About Me

A lackluster introduction:

I'm Holyn Campbell, a sophomore from Options Charter School, and I made this blog for my creative writing class. I enjoy writing, but not when it's for a grade. Part of my grade is making an "About Me" section in my blog portfolio, and I've put this part off for a while.

Scifi is a big part of my life; I enjoy watching it with my father and older sister. We have always bonded over science fiction stories throughout my childhood. Shows that air on the British Broadcasting Channel, such as Doctor Who and Torchwood, are among my favorites.

Aside from Scifi, I love to be creative. Art is among one of my favorite past times. It tends to calm me down when I'm upset, too. If I didn't have art as a release I don't know where I'd be.

I would like to be a tattoo artist in my future. I'm very passionate about the art of tattooing and the steps involved to be one. Tattooing truly amazes me in every aspect.

Well, there's a bit about me.

Thanks for reading!

Cheer Up Little Lady

Cheer up little lady,
Everything will look up.
I know everything is looking shady,
But it's time to be a grownup.

Smile for today,
Forget about the past.
Don't let yourself stray,
Time passes too fast.

Cheer up little lady,
He's in love with you.
I know he's acting shady,
But you'll make it through.

Smile for today,
Just for a bit.
I know that you don't have much to say,
But you can make it.

Cheer up little lady,
You are here for a reason.
I know today is shady,
But tomorrow is a new season.

Angst In Suburbia

There's angst in suburbia.
Slits on wrists,
Hands in fists.
Take one hit, everyone insists.

There's angst in suburbia.
Young kids acting older,
Wary people getting bolder.
Are there any more good heads on shoulders?

There's angst in suburbia.
Girls making themselves sick,
Living off a celery stick.
There's no reason to look like that other chick.

There's angst in suburbia.
Boys trying to believe the bluff
That they're big and tough.
Have they had enough?

There's angst in suburbia.
Homes are divided,
Shame has coincided.
We just need to be guided.
